Welcome to the Local Elements Tour
Local Elements 2.0 just launched on March 12, 2008 at 3:41pm. Below you will find a breif description of each of the New features of the site. In each of those sections you will see a small photo screenshot. When you click on the photo you will be taken to a more in depth overview of that feature with a larger view of the screenshot.
If you like being the "first" to know, you can sign up for our email update. These updates will keep you "In the loop" of all the new features that we role out over the next few months. All you have to do is simply Sign Up.
Overview-
Local Elements is the You-Powered website that showcases all the things that make each community unique. It's all about discovering and sharing content about your community and connecting with the people who live there.
Locals-
Every registered individual user will have a "profile card" displayed on the Locals page in their hometown. This card with include their Picture, User Name, Brief Description, and links to their full profile and external sites. You will also find an overview of the most recent/popular Questions/Answers, Blogs, Items for Sale and Stories.
News-
We are really excited about the News feature in this new version of Local Elements, which basically gives you the ability to report news worthy items within your community to other Local Elements users. The idea of crowd powered media is showing up everywhere and we want Local Elements to be right in the middle of it.
Q&A-
This is a fun new section to Local Elements. You can now ask questions, post questions and find answers about your local community. Want to know where to find the best food in town or where there is an art show, this is the section for you. Click one of the screen shots to find out more about Q&A.
Artists-
We are really excited about adding a section for Local Artists in every city. This is a great chance for local painters, bands, musicians, writers, those from the theater and more to showcase their contributions to the local art scene.
Charities-
We are really excited about adding a section for Charities in every city. Charities will be able to tell their story, show pictures and receive donations through their Local Elements Profile.
Businesses-
Businesses can now be located on Local Elements. The Business accounts will have the same tools as Locals and Charities. They can list News, Q&A, Jobs and Coupons. This feature will be an amazing tool for Businesses to bring exposure to their Company.
